The Cudy WR1200 functions as a dual-band Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) tabletop router, supporting both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands. The router delivers a maximum theoretical combined wireless data rate of 1200 Mbit/s. The 5 GHz radio operates up to 867 Mbit/s, typically handling bandwidth-intensive tasks such as video streaming. The 2.4 GHz radio provides speeds up to 300 Mbit/s, offering standard coverage across the network. Four external antennas with a maximum gain level of 5 dBi are utilized to maintain signal distribution.

The unit is equipped with four Fast Ethernet ports, which provide wired data transfer rates limited to 10/100 Mbit/s for all local and wide-area network connections. Management features include Quality of Service (QoS) support for traffic prioritization and parental controls, allowing for domain filtering and Wi-Fi time schedules. Network security relies on an integrated firewall, Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI), and support for WPA2-PSK encryption standards.

The WR1200 supports a variety of VPN client protocols, including PPTP, L2TP, OpenVPN, and WireGuard, facilitating secure remote connections. Configuration and monitoring are available via a standard web interface or through the dedicated Cudy App. The physical chassis measures 221 mm wide, 134.6 mm deep, and 27.9 mm high, suitable for desktop placement or wall mounting.
