Epson’s new UltraChrome DG Ink has been designed for Direct To Garment printing on cotton and cotton blend textiles. The White ink has been designed to enhance the colour range and presentation value on light fabric while also providing a base for colour printing on dark fabric. It features a formulation that resists sedimentation, has a bright white finish and accepts colour ink well. It does not require special ventilation during printing.
The White ink has been formulated specifically for use with Epson DTG printers. Before printing, garments must be evenly and well coated with pre-treatment liquid which is then allowed to dry (naturally or in a heat press). Once printed the garment must again be placed in a heat press to fix the ink. Once fixed it results in a finish with a low tack feel that is tough and durable, with good UV/Wash resistance. Ink cartridges come in a choice of sizes to suit different levels of use and cost per print requirements.
When applied and fixed to cotton fabric the ink passes the requirements of the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 for human ecological requirements of Class 1 products for adults, children, and babies up to 36 months. The Oeko-Tex Standard 100 specifies testing criteria for the presence of harmful substances within a textile product. The standard belongs to the International Association for Research and Testing in the field of Textile Ecology (Oeko-Tex).
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Cartridges must be used before the date specified on the packaging and once opened must be used within one year. To ensure consistent output they should be removed daily and shaken vigorously before reinsertion. To ensure reliable mechanical operation the printer undertakes continuous self-cleaning & ink recycling. Periodically (typically every two weeks) the printer will instruct the user to remove the white ink cartridges and insert cleaning cartridges to perform a full internal clean. The cleaning process is mandatory and will result in purging of ink stored inside the machine into the waste tank (remaining ink in the relevant cartridges will be preserved). Before commencement of printing, garments which have had a pre-treatment applied they must be fully dried, lint removed and the article flattened. Failure to follow these procedures may result in damage to the printer, invalidation of warranty &/or the terms of a Service pack.
