The TP-Link TL-WPA4220 AV600 Wi-Fi Powerline Extender uses existing electrical wiring to extend network coverage to areas with poor connectivity. This unit operates on the HomePlug AV standard, providing data transfer rates of up to 600 Mbit/s over the powerline. It serves as both a wired and wireless access point using Wi-Fi 4 technology. Wireless devices can connect at speeds of up to 300 Mbit/s, while two Fast Ethernet RJ-45 ports provide wired connectivity for stationary hardware. Sold as a single unit, it requires at least one other compatible powerline adapter to establish a network.

The unit measures 94 mm wide, 54 mm deep, and 40 mm high. As this model lacks a pass-through power socket, it occupies the wall outlet it is plugged into. Integrated LEDs indicate power status, Ethernet activity, and powerline link synchronization. Security is managed via a physical encryption button, which supports WPA and WPA2-PSK protocols. Data transmission remains stable over distances of up to 300 metres within a single electrical circuit. The adapter extends an existing network without the need for additional internal cabling.
