The Thermaltake Contac Silent 12 is an air cooler designed to manage processors generating up to 150W Thermal Design Power (TDP). Heat dissipation utilizes four 6mm diameter copper heatpipes that make direct contact with the CPU Integrated Heat Spreader (IHS). The heatpipes transfer thermal energy directly into a dense stack of aluminum fins for efficient cooling performance. The entire structure is optimized to maintain low acoustic output throughout its operational speed range.

Cooling is facilitated by a single 120mm fan featuring Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) control, allowing rotational speeds to dynamically adjust between 400 and 1500 RPM. At peak rotation, the fan generates a maximum airflow of 74.33 CFM and 1.68 mmH₂O of static pressure. Maximum noise output registers at 28.8 dB, positioning this component for quiet system builds. The overall dimension of 153 mm height requires sufficient vertical clearance within the computer chassis.
