QNAP QBoat Sunny - IoT mini server

The QNAP QBoat Sunny is an IoT mini server designed as an edge computing platform for small-scale deployments and development. It uses an Annapurna Labs AL-314 quad-core 1.7 GHz processor to handle application workloads and device communication. The hardware includes 2 GB of DDR3 memory and 512 MB of flash storage for the operating system. It processes data locally at the network edge, removing the need for a full-sized PC. The device natively supports containerized applications, allowing users to host modular services—such as local dashboards, reverse proxies, and integration services—using LXC or Docker.

Measuring 144 x 126 x 33.5 mm and weighing 490 g, the unit is suitable for installation in space-constrained areas. LED indicators provide status updates for SSD activity, system status, and WAN connectivity. A physical switch manages power, supplied via a 36 W unit, with typical power consumption rated at 13.31 W. It supports network protocols including HTTP, HTTPS, SSH, and SNMP versions 2 and 3. Wake-on-LAN and a hardware reset button provide administrative control.
