The Synology FlashStation FS6400 is a 2U rackmount server designed for low-latency, I/O-intensive workloads. It features 24 bays for 2.5-inch SAS or SATA solid-state drives. The unit runs on an eight-core Intel Xeon Silver 4110 processor with a 2.1 GHz base frequency. It comes with 32 GB of DDR4 ECC RDIMM memory, expandable to 512 GB across 16 slots. For network connectivity, it includes dual 10GbE RJ45 ports. The system supports up to 6,000 users and 2,048 concurrent connections.

The 2U chassis includes two internal 800W redundant power supplies to maintain operation during a power supply unit failure. Cooling is provided by four 80 mm active fans, with a typical power consumption of 288.49 W under load. The system supports various RAID configurations, including RAID F1, which is designed for flash arrays to prevent simultaneous drive failures. Data management is handled through Btrfs and ext4 file systems, with features for snapshot replication and iSCSI LUN backup. Administrative tasks are performed via a web-based interface that supports protocols such as SMB, NFS, and WebDAV. Physical security includes drive bay locks and LED indicators for power, alert, and drive status.
