The ICY DOCK FlexiDOCK MB522SP-B is an internal storage rack that fits two 2.5-inch drives into a single 3.5-inch bay. The rack supports both SATA and SAS interfaces, accommodating SSDs and HDDs between 5 mm and 9.5 mm in thickness. Its tray-less design allows for direct drive insertion, meaning no mounting tools or additional hardware are required. It supports data transfer speeds of up to 6 Gbit/s for SATA and 12 Gbit/s for single-lane SAS 3.0. Hot-swapping is supported, allowing users to exchange drives without shutting down the system, provided the host controller is compatible.

The device features a metal frame with ABS plastic components. Front-mounted LEDs indicate power with a solid blue light and data activity with a flashing blue light. The unit connects to the host via 7-pin SATA cables and uses a 15-pin SATA connector for power. An open-frame layout allows for passive cooling using the computer chassis’s existing airflow. An ejection mechanism helps guide drives during removal. The package includes mounting screws and an installation guide for fitting the rack into standard desktop PC cases.
