The Google Nest Cam (battery) is an indoor/outdoor security camera that operates without a wired power connection. The unit records video at 1920 x 1080 resolution and 30 frames per second. Powered by a built-in lithium-ion battery, it can be mounted in locations without access to electrical outlets. The camera connects exclusively via Wi-Fi and does not have an Ethernet port. For night-time security, integrated infrared sensors provide visibility up to 6.1 metres in complete darkness.

Designed for outdoor use, the camera has an IP65 weatherproof rating and operates in temperatures ranging from -20 to 40 °C. The software distinguishes between people, animals, and vehicles to filter motion alerts. A built-in microphone and speaker provide two-way audio for communicating with visitors, and the device integrates with Google Assistant for voice control. Wireless transmissions are protected by WEP, WPA, WPA2, and WPA3 security protocols.
