Makita BO5030 125 mm Random Orbit Sander

Makita BO5030 125 mm Random Orbit Sander is a corded electric tool for sanding and finishing flat wood surfaces. Its 300 W input power supports smoothing timber, paint preparation and finish carpentry. The motor produces up to 12,000 oscillations per minute for efficient material removal. A 2.8 mm orbit balances surface coverage with controlled finishing. Random orbital movement helps limit the visible sanding patterns left by simpler motion types. Speed is not adjustable, so there is no material-specific rate selection.

Through-the-pad dust extraction directs sanding debris into the supplied dust bag. The round 125 x 125 mm plate uses hook-and-loop fixing for straightforward abrasive changes. At 1.3 kg, the random orbit sander is relatively manageable during longer surface-preparation jobs. Its compact palm-grip body includes a rubberised soft-grip area for handling and control. One compatible sanding sheet is supplied, allowing initial setup without a separate abrasive purchase. The plate accepts Makita 125 mm hook-and-loop sanding discs and sheets.
