The DEWALT DCD709D2T-QW 18V XR Brushless Cordless Hammer Drill, 2 x 2Ah Batteries and Case is intended for trade and demanding DIY drilling and screwdriving. Its 18 V battery runs without a mains lead. The brushless motor produces up to 65 Nm of torque for driving and boring tasks. Maximum drilling diameter is 30 mm in wood, 13 mm in steel, and 13 mm in concrete. The concrete rating reflects its hammer-drilling capability rather than ordinary rotary drilling alone.

At 1.6 kg and 175 mm long, the drill has a compact pistol-grip format for confined work areas. The chuck accepts bits from 1.5 to 13 mm, covering common drill and driver sizes. Two gears separate lower-speed driving from higher-speed drilling, and the variable-speed trigger adjusts speed during use.
