The Makita DGA517Z 18V LXT Brushless Cordless Angle Grinder, 125 mm, Body Only is intended for portable cutting, grinding, and sanding work. Battery operation removes the need for a mains lead during use. Maximum no-load speed is 8,500 RPM, suitable for metal cutting and material removal with appropriate accessories. Rated cutting depth is 29 mm, depending on the fitted disc and material.

The grinder weighs 2.4 kg. A side handle provides an additional gripping point, and soft-grip surfaces improve handling. Soft start reduces abrupt start-up, and restart protection prevents unintended operation after a power interruption. The disc guard covers part of the fitted accessory.
