The Makita DGA517ZJ 18V LXT Brushless Cordless Angle Grinder 125 mm Body Only is a battery-powered grinder suitable for cutting, grinding and sanding metal and stone. Its 125 mm disc format supports general workshop and site applications. The brushless motor is powered by Makita's 18 V LXT lithium-ion battery system. Five speed settings span 3,000 to 8,500 RPM, allowing output to be matched to different materials and accessories. Cordless operation removes the need for a mains lead during use.

The grinder weighs 3.1 kg and combines a soft-grip body with an auxiliary handle for two-handed control. Soft start brings the disc up to operating speed gradually. Kickback protection, restart protection and overload protection guard against binding, unintended restarting and excessive load. A protective guard is supplied for the fitted disc. This body-only package contains no battery or charger, but includes one grinding disc and a Makpac carrying case.
