The QNAP QDA-UMP4 M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe to U.2 adapter allows for the use of M.2 NVMe SSDs in hardware configured for U.2 connectivity. The adapter converts the physical and electrical interface of an M.2 drive to a standard U.2 connection, maintaining PCIe 4.0 x4 data transfer rates between the storage and the host system. This enables the deployment of M.2 modules in systems where U.2 drives are required. Host systems recognize the installed drives as standard U.2 storage without requiring specific software or driver modifications.
The adapter connects directly to the host backplane. Its physical design holds the drive securely within a standard 2.5-inch drive tray, ensuring connection integrity.
