The NETGEAR Nighthawk RAXE500 is a Tri-Band Wi-Fi 6E router utilizing the 802.11ax standard across three frequency bands: 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and the newly established 6 GHz band. The incorporation of the 6 GHz band provides a wider, less congested channel for compatible devices, optimizing performance in environments with high network traffic. This configuration allows for a maximum combined theoretical wireless transfer rate of 10,800 Mbit/s across all three bands. The unit is designed to provide stable wireless coverage for up to 325 square meters, supporting simultaneous connectivity for up to 60 client devices.
Internal operations are managed by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.8 GHz, supported by 1024 MB of internal RAM and 512 MB of flash storage. Wired connectivity includes one dedicated WAN port and four LAN ports. One of these LAN ports offers Multi-Gig capability, supporting speeds up to 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet, while the remaining ports operate at Gigabit Ethernet standards. The chassis incorporates two USB 3.0 Type-A ports for attaching external storage to the network, enabling media server functionality. Wireless signal delivery is optimized using Beamforming and MU-MIMO technologies, complemented by WPA3 encryption for network security.
