The TP-Link Tapo C500 is an outdoor pan/tilt Wi-Fi security camera. It records in 1080p Full HD at 30 frames per second using a 2-megapixel CMOS sensor. Infrared LEDs provide night vision up to 30 metres, and an IR-cut filter ensures consistent image quality in daylight. The camera connects via 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and does not support wired Ethernet. Motorised controls allow for remote pan and tilt, avoiding the limitations of a static field of view.

Designed for outdoor use, the camera has an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance. It operates in temperatures ranging from -30 °C to 60 °C. Intelligent features include motion detection, person detection, and automatic target tracking. A built-in microphone and speaker allow for two-way audio and an integrated siren. The device integrates with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for voice control and remote viewing. A physical privacy mode hides the lens when monitoring is not required.
