The Inter-Tech 4F28 is a 4U 19-inch rackmount chassis engineered for high-density storage and cryptocurrency mining applications. Its primary design focus is storage capacity, accommodating up to 28 internal 3.5-inch hard drives and an additional four 2.5-inch drives. The enclosure is constructed from 1.2 mm thick steel, providing the durability and rigidity required for server room or industrial deployments. This specific build is intended for systems where mass data storage or component density is the central requirement.

For thermal management, the chassis is equipped with a robust, pre-installed cooling system. Three 120 mm fans at the front serve as intakes, while a central fan bar with three more 120 mm fans directs airflow across the main drive area. Two 80 mm fans are included at the rear for exhaust, creating a consistent front-to-back airflow path. The internal layout supports a range of motherboard form factors, from Mini-ITX up to E-ATX, and allows for CPU coolers with a maximum height of 155 mm.

The front panel includes two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports and two USB 2.0 ports, along with standard power and reset controls and LED indicators for power and HDD activity. The design omits conventional rear expansion slots, a typical configuration for dedicated storage servers or riser-based mining setups. It accommodates a standard ATX power supply, which is mounted separately and is not included with the chassis. All pre-installed fans utilize Molex connectors for power.
