The ASUSTOR Lockerstor 4RD 1U rackmount NAS is designed for small and medium-sized business environments. It is powered by an Intel Atom C3538 quad-core processor at 2.1 GHz for data operations and backups. The unit holds up to four 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch SATA III hard drives or solid-state drives, reaching a maximum internal capacity of 72 TB. Four integrated 2.5 GbE Ethernet ports provide faster local data transfers than standard gigabit connections. The device is sold without pre-installed drives, allowing for custom storage configurations.

For system reliability, the NAS includes two 250 W power supply units and an active cooling system with two 40 mm fans. It comes with 8 GB of DDR4 SO-DIMM memory, which can be expanded to 128 GB to accommodate higher workloads. Data integrity is managed through various RAID levels, with support for online expansion and migration to minimize downtime. Administrative tasks are handled via the ADM operating system, which includes Snapshot Center and iSCSI support for virtualised environments. Access control lists and AES encryption are used to manage folder permissions and secure network data. The system is compatible with Windows, macOS, and Linux client environments.
