Metabo HS 18 LTX BL 55 Cordless Hedge Trimmer, 18 V, 550 mm

The Metabo HS 18 LTX BL 55 cordless hedge trimmer is designed for maintaining medium-sized and larger hedges without a trailing power cable. Its 500 mm cutting length and 21 mm maximum branch capacity suit broader hedge faces while accommodating established growth within that rated limit. A brushless motor drives the 550 mm double-sided reciprocating blade at up to 3,400 strokes per minute. Diamond-ground cutting edges support controlled cutting from either side of the blade.

At approximately 4.4 kg with a battery fitted, this model is heavy enough that balance and hand positioning will matter during longer jobs. The rear handle rotates through five positions, helping keep the wrist aligned when moving between horizontal and vertical hedge surfaces. Soft-grip sections and an ergonomic secondary handle provide two-handed control during cutting. Metabo VibraTech damping limits transmitted vibration, with a stated vibration emission of 4.1 m/s².

The trimmer accepts removable 18 V battery packs and chargers shared across Cordless Alliance System brands. Neither a battery nor a charger is supplied, so first-time users need to source both separately. This bare-tool configuration is most relevant to buyers who already use the CAS platform. Replaceable packs allow a depleted battery to be exchanged rather than keeping the trimmer tied to a built-in power source.
