Casio ClassWiz FX-85CW Scientific Calculator

The Casio ClassWiz FX-85CW is a scientific calculator designed for secondary school and vocational maths. Its 10-digit display handles standard academic equations, while the 63 x 192 dot-matrix screen features 4-shade grayscale for improved character clarity. Users navigate between modes using a dedicated interface. The device supports the algebraic, trigonometric, and statistical functions required for secondary education, with a display that renders mathematical notation as it appears in textbooks.

The calculator is powered by a combination of solar cells and an LR44 battery. Measuring 77 x 162 x 10.7 mm and weighing 95 g, it is compact and easy to transport in its included hard slide-on case. The device features an automatic power-off function to conserve battery life and an icon-based menu, which helps users find settings without needing to memorise button combinations. Batteries are pre-installed for immediate use.

• 24 levels of nested parentheses – simplifies the input of complex algebraic expressions.
• Nine memory registers – provides storage for variables and intermediate results.
• Over 290 built-in functions – covers the requirements for trigonometry, algebra, and statistics.
• Math Box – includes tools for statistical simulations and probability.
• QR code generation – converts mathematical data into codes for external viewing.
• Single-line numerical output – clearly separates the final result from the equation string.
