The Philips TAB5309/10 is a 2.1 channel soundbar system that includes a wireless active subwoofer. It is engineered to provide an expanded audio stage for television, movies, and music, with a total RMS rated power of 120 watts. The system incorporates decoders for DTS Virtual:X, Dolby Digital, and Dolby Digital Plus, which process audio signals to simulate a wider sound field. The separate subwoofer features a 5.25-inch driver and is designed to handle low-frequency output for enhanced bass response.

For connectivity, the soundbar is equipped with an HDMI 1.4 output with Audio Return Channel (ARC), allowing a single cable to transmit audio from a compatible television. This connection also supports EasyLink (CEC), enabling volume control through the TV's remote. Additional inputs include a digital optical port and an analog AUX-in. Wireless audio streaming from external devices is facilitated by Bluetooth 5.3. The system offers several equalizer modes, such as Movie, Music, and Game, to tailor the sound profile to different types of content.

The main soundbar unit has a width of 766 mm and a dark gray finish. It can be placed on a media console or mounted to a wall with the included mounting kit. An infrared remote control is supplied for direct operation of the system's functions.
