The NZXT F120Q is a 120 mm case fan designed to deliver consistent airflow with minimal acoustic output. It incorporates a fluid dynamic bearing (FDB), a component selected for its durability and quiet operation over an extended lifespan. The fan supports 4-pin PWM control, which enables the motherboard or a compatible controller to regulate its rotational speed based on real-time thermal data. This functionality ensures that cooling performance is applied dynamically as system demand changes.

Operating between 500 and 1700 RPM, the fan produces a maximum airflow of 74.26 CFM and 1.43 mmH2O of static pressure. These performance metrics are suited for general case cooling, whether positioned as an intake or an exhaust fan, and it can move air through enclosures with moderate impedance from dust filters. The all-black, non-illuminated frame is constructed from plastic with rubber contact points to help dampen vibration during operation.
