The ASUS RT-BE86U is a dual-band Wi-Fi 7 router built for high-demand networking. Utilizing the 802.11be standard and 4096-QAM modulation, it provides a maximum combined Wi-Fi speed of 5764 Mbit/s. It delivers rates up to 1032 Mbit/s on 2.4 GHz and 5764 Mbit/s on 5 GHz. The hardware supports coverage up to 255 m² for up to 100 devices. Beamforming, MU-MIMO, and intelligent mesh technology are included to improve signal distribution and network scalability.

Wired connectivity includes 10 Gigabit and 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces with four RJ-45 ports. The router features one USB 3.2 Gen 1 port and one USB 2.0 port for storage or 4G/5G mobile tethering. Security is provided through WPA3, AiProtection, and a built-in firewall. The device supports VPN protocols such as WireGuard and OpenVPN, along with Quality of Service (QoS) and parental controls.
