The TP-Link Tapo C501GW Outdoor PTZ 4G LTE Security Camera is designed for surveillance in locations without Wi-Fi coverage. Instead of relying on local wireless networks, this model uses a built-in Nano-SIM slot to stream data over 4G LTE connections. For hardwired installations, the device supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) to combine network and power delivery. The optical system records at 1080p (1920 x 1080) resolution at 30 fps, using a 2-megapixel CMOS sensor. Low-light monitoring relies on integrated infrared LEDs operating at an 850 nm wavelength, extending visibility up to 29.9 metres in complete darkness. A 122-degree diagonal field of view provides wide coverage before the motorised pan-and-tilt mechanism is engaged.

Housed in a metal, IP66-rated enclosure, this unit is built to withstand operating temperatures from -30 to 60 °C. The motorised pan-and-tilt mechanism provides 360 degrees of horizontal rotation and 60 to 130 degrees of vertical tilt. The camera software categorises humans, vehicles, and pets to trigger targeted push notifications, reducing the need to record unnecessary footage. Audio capabilities include a built-in microphone and speaker for two-way communication, alongside a 99 dB integrated siren to act as a deterrent. Footage is saved directly to a local memory card slot supporting microSD capacities up to 512 GB. Smart home functionality is accessible through native compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
