SwitchBot Garage Door Opener

The SwitchBot Garage Door Opener is a smart controller for automating, remotely operating and monitoring compatible residential garage doors. It works with more than 1,600 garage door models, so model compatibility is worth checking before purchase. The controller reports whether the door is open or closed and detects possible intrusion. Remote access lets the user open or close the door while away, with real-time status and security notifications for oversight. Scheduling and automatic locking protection add options for routine access and securing the garage.

The indoor unit has a PC polycarbonate housing, weighs 27 g, and measures 42 × 36 × 16 mm. Power can be supplied through either a 100–240 V AC or 24–30 V DC connection. An AC adapter is included, and the controller does not require batteries. Installation generally leaves the existing garage door opener in place rather than replacing its drive system. Control options include the SwitchBot app, supported smart-home apps, voice commands, Siri, Apple CarPlay and a physical button trigger.
