The Keychron Q5 Ultra 8K (96%, Black) is a custom mechanical keyboard featuring Silk POM Brown switches, designed for users who need a compact layout that includes a numeric keypad. It connects via three methods: a 2.4 GHz receiver, Bluetooth 5.3, or a wired USB-C link. The keyboard features an 8000 Hz polling rate in both wired and wireless modes to reduce input latency. The switches are housed in hot-swappable sockets, allowing for replacement without soldering.

The CNC-machined aluminium chassis weighs 2098 grams, providing a stable typing base. A double-gasket mount design and integrated sound-dampening foam are used to tune the keyboard's acoustics. The keycaps are double-shot PBT in a KSA profile, designed to resist wear over time. Customisation is handled via ZMK firmware and the Keychron Launcher web software. The internal rechargeable battery is rated for up to 660 hours of use, and the keyboard is compatible with macOS, Windows, and Linux.
