The ASUS ROG Rapture GT-BE98 is a quad-band router based on the Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) standard. It uses four frequency bands—2.4 GHz, two 5 GHz bands, and a 6 GHz band—to manage network traffic. Data transfer rates reach up to 1376 Mbit/s on the 2.4 GHz band and 5764 Mbit/s on the 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands. 4096-QAM modulation increases data density, and MU-MIMO technology handles concurrent data streams to multiple devices to maintain connection stability.

Wired connections are managed through six Ethernet LAN ports and a dedicated Ethernet WAN port. These interfaces support 10 Gigabit Ethernet for high-speed local networking. For peripherals, the ROG Rapture GT-BE98 includes one USB 3.2 Gen 1 port and one USB 2.0 port. Security features include WPA3 encryption, an integrated firewall, and guest access controls. Eight external antennas provide signal coverage, and VPN support covers WireGuard, IPSec, and OpenVPN for both client and server applications. Quality of Service (QoS) tools allow for the prioritisation of network traffic.
