The Cooler Master HAF 500 is a mid-tower case designed for high-airflow cooling and demanding hardware. It is suited for systems running intensive gaming, rendering, and simulation workloads. The chassis includes a factory-installed cooling array featuring two 220 mm front intake fans and one 180 mm rear exhaust fan to provide high-volume airflow. Users can adapt the interior using the FreeForm 2.0 layout to adjust fan positions based on their hardware configuration, supporting both air-cooled systems and custom liquid loops.

The frame is constructed from 0.7–0.8 mm SGCC steel with ABS exterior elements for structural rigidity. A tempered glass panel on the left side provides a clear view of the interior. A split-level design and dedicated cable routing help organise components and prevent airflow obstructions. The case supports a range of motherboard form factors, from Mini-ITX up to E-ATX models measuring 310 mm wide. As the case does not include a power supply, users can select a unit that meets their specific wattage requirements. An integrated LED controller is provided to manage component illumination directly from the chassis.
