The Cisco Catalyst 2960-Plus WS-C2960+24LC-S is a managed Layer 2 switch featuring 24 Fast Ethernet RJ-45 ports and two combo Gigabit SFP uplink slots. Eight of the RJ-45 ports provide IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE) for network peripherals. The switch offers a switching capacity of 16 Gbit/s and a forwarding rate of 6.5 Mpps.

The device is housed in a 1U rack-mount chassis and operates at an acoustic level of 43 dB. Its internal power system provides a 123 W total PoE budget, delivering up to 15.4 W per port. Network managers can use web-based tools to configure quality-of-service (QoS) for traffic prioritisation. Security features include access control lists (ACLs), MAC address filtering, and 802.1x RADIUS authentication. The device supports up to 64 active VLANs for network segmentation.
