The TP-Link TL-MR3020 is a portable wireless N router designed to share mobile broadband internet. It has no internal SIM slot; instead, it uses an external 3G/4G USB modem for cellular connectivity. The device operates on the 2.4 GHz frequency using the Wi-Fi 4 standard, with a maximum wireless data transfer rate of 300 Mbit/s. It allows multiple devices to share a single mobile connection simultaneously. The unit is compact, measuring 74 mm wide and 67 mm deep.

The router features one Fast Ethernet RJ-45 port for wired local area network connections, while the secondary USB 2.0 port is used for the cellular modem to establish the WAN link. It is powered via a 5V USB connection from a wall adapter or a laptop port. Security features include a built-in firewall with DoS and SPI protection. Administrators can manage settings, including guest access and parental controls, via a web-based interface.
