The DELOCK 2.5-inch Converter Enclosure (62731) allows the use of M.2 (2230–2280) or mSATA SSDs as external storage. It supports M.2 modules in 2230, 2242, 2260, and 2280 lengths, as well as both half- and full-size mSATA formats. The integrated USB 10 Gbps interface enables data transfer rates of up to 10 Gbit/s. The device is compatible only with SATA-based modules and does not support NVMe. It provides a simple way to access files on spare SSDs without needing to install them directly onto a motherboard.

The enclosure follows the standard 2.5-inch form factor with a 9 mm height, making it suitable for standard drive bays or standalone use. It connects to a host system via a female USB Micro-B port using the provided 35 cm cable. The enclosure is entirely USB bus-powered, requiring no external power supply. Integrated safety features protect against short circuits, overheating, and electrostatic discharge up to 2 kV. Built-in LED indicators monitor the drive's status. The hardware is compatible with Windows 7 through 11 and Linux Kernel 4.6 or later. Mounting screws and a user manual are included to assist with installation.
