The Ubiquiti airFiber AF-5U is an outdoor 5.7–6.2 GHz wireless unit designed for high-capacity, point-to-point backhaul. Operating within the 5.725 to 6.200 GHz frequency range, it serves as a microwave-style bridge where physical fiber installation is impractical. The antenna provides a maximum gain of 23 dBi for stable connections over long distances, with a rated operating range of up to 100 km, depending on environmental conditions. It supports data throughput of up to 1,200 Mbit/s. Network operators use the system to establish reliable long-range links.

The unit is rated for survival wind speeds of up to 200 km/h. It uses dual-slant polarization to maintain link quality and mitigate external interference. The device weighs 16 kg and features a white housing measuring 468.4 mm by 938.4 mm. A pole mount kit and brackets are included for installation. It is powered via a 50V Power over Ethernet (PoE) connection, with an adapter included. Twelve status LEDs indicate link activity, signal strength, and modulation modes.
