This storage drive backplane is designed to fit a standard 5.25-inch computer bay, providing a method for installing and managing multiple drives. It accommodates up to four 2.5-inch SATA or SAS drives, supporting both solid-state and hard disk drive formats with heights from 5 mm to 15 mm. Each drive bay utilizes an individual SATA/SAS interface, which allows for data transfer rates of up to 6 Gbps per drive. This configuration is suitable for expanding a system's storage capacity or implementing a RAID array with a compatible host controller.

The unit's housing is constructed from aluminum and steel for structural integrity and passive heat dissipation. To assist with active thermal management, the backplane is equipped with two integrated cooling fans located at the rear of the device. Each of the four drive trays is removable for drive installation and can be secured with a key lock to prevent unauthorized access. The front panel includes dedicated LED indicators that display power and activity status for each individual drive, along with an indicator for fan operation.
