The Cisco Aironet 1815w is a dual-band wireless access point designed for indoor use in environments such as offices and hospitality spaces. It operates on the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands using the 802.11ac Wave 2 standard, providing a maximum combined data rate of 1000 Mbit/s. The 5 GHz band supports transfer rates of up to 867 Mbit/s. The unit features MU-MIMO technology to communicate with multiple clients simultaneously and beamforming to focus signals toward connected devices. With a capacity for up to 400 concurrent users, it is suited for high-density network environments. Its internal antennas and compact form factor allow for installation in various locations without the need for specialized hardware.

Wired connectivity is provided through four Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports and a dedicated WAN interface. Power is supplied via Power over Ethernet (PoE), which removes the need for local electrical outlets at the installation point. Security protocols include 802.1X RADIUS authentication, WPA2, and AES encryption. Administrators can manage the hardware through a web-based interface or via controllerless Cisco Mobility Express software.
