The NETGEAR GS348-100EUS 48-Port Gigabit Unmanaged Ethernet Switch is a plug-and-play device designed to expand wired network capacity. It requires no configuration; you simply plug in your hardware to the RJ45 ports, and it is ready to use. As a Layer 2 device, it forwards frames based on automatically learned MAC addresses. Each port automatically negotiates 10/100/1000 Mbit/s links to support various device speeds, and the switch provides a total switching capacity of 96 Gbit/s to maintain throughput across all active ports.

The switch is housed in a metal chassis designed for standard commercial environments. Its 1U form factor fits standard equipment racks, though it can also be wall-mounted to save space.
