The ICY DOCK ToughArmor MB601VK-B is a dedicated mobile rack designed for installing a single 2.5-inch U.2 NVMe, SAS, or SATA solid-state drive within an external 3.5-inch drive bay. This internal enclosure uses the U.2 SFF-8639 host interface to facilitate high-speed data throughput. When utilized with a compatible host system, the enclosure supports a maximum data transfer rate of 64 Gbit/s, aligning with PCIe 4.0 standards. It maintains compatibility with 2.5-inch drives ranging in height from 7mm up to 15mm.

The unit features a full metal housing designed for durability in demanding operating environments. Drive access is managed using EZ Slide Mini trays, supporting tool-less hot-swap functionality when connected to an appropriate host system. Front panel indicators display solid green for drive power and flashing green for drive access activity. Physical security is addressed through an integrated 2-segment key lock mechanism, securing the drive tray within the rack.
