The Panasonic DMR-UBC70EGS combines a 4K UHD Blu-ray player with an HDD TV recorder for physical media and live broadcasts. It features built-in DVB-C and DVB-T2 tuners for cable and terrestrial signals, and its dual-tuner configuration allows you to record two channels simultaneously. The unit outputs 4K Ultra HD video at 3840 x 2160 pixels, provides hardware upscaling for standard-definition broadcasts, and supports 3D playback. All live viewing functions are managed via the on-screen display.

The recorder includes a 500 GB internal hard drive, which supports personal recording and timeshift functions for pausing or rewinding live television. The device does not have Wi-Fi but features a Gigabit Ethernet LAN port for wired networking. Its silver chassis measures 430 mm in width, fitting standard AV equipment racks.
