It connects via a 4-pin PWM header, which allows for automatic fan speed control by a compatible motherboard or dedicated controller based on thermal demand. The fan is engineered with Noctua's SSO2 bearing, a self-stabilizing oil-pressure design that contributes to its operational stability and longevity. Integrated anti-vibration pads made from silicone rubber are built into the frame to reduce the transmission of operational vibrations.

Operating within a speed range of 1000 to 5000 RPM, this fan produces a maximum airflow of 5.24 CFM and a static pressure of 1.95 mmH2O. These performance characteristics make it suitable for general case ventilation in small-form-factor builds or for providing direct airflow to components like VRMs and chipsets. The acoustic output is rated at 19.6 dB at full speed, with lower noise levels at reduced rotational speeds.
