The Fractal Design Define 7 is a mid-tower chassis engineered for modularity. Its interior features a convertible layout, allowing a switch between a high-capacity storage configuration and an open plan for increased airflow. The construction combines a steel frame with an anodized aluminum front panel, which has a reversible hinge for direct access. This design facilitates straightforward component installation and system maintenance.

The case provides extensive support for air and liquid cooling. It accommodates up to nine 120/140 mm fans and includes three 140 mm Dynamic X2 GP-14 models. For liquid cooling, the chassis has mounting points for radiators up to 420 mm in the top and 360 mm in the front. Removable dust filters on the top, front, and bottom panels protect internal components from dust accumulation.

Component compatibility extends from mITX to E-ATX motherboards up to 285 mm wide. The chassis provides 185 mm of clearance for CPU coolers and fits ATX power supplies up to 250 mm long. The front I/O panel includes one USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C port, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, and audio jacks. Integrated cable management features help maintain an orderly build.
