The Fractal Design Define 7 is a mid-tower chassis engineered for modularity. Its primary feature is a dual-layout interior that allows for reconfiguration based on the intended use. The "Open Layout" provides substantial clearance for custom liquid cooling components, while the "Storage Layout" reconfigures the space to support a high density of drives, accommodating up to 14 HDDs. This model is built with a steel and aluminum frame and features a gray exterior with a light tinted tempered glass side panel.

Cooling capabilities are extensive, with nine total 120/140 mm fan mounts and three pre-installed Dynamic X2 GP-14 fans providing initial airflow. For liquid cooling, the case supports radiators up to 420 mm in the top position and 360 mm in the front. The design also focuses on low operational noise, incorporating sound-dampened front, top, and side panels. Removable dust filters are located on the top, front, and bottom for simplified maintenance.

The chassis supports E-ATX motherboards (up to 285 mm), CPU coolers up to 185 mm in height, and ATX power supplies up to 250 mm in length. The front I/O panel includes one USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C port, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, two USB 2.0 ports, and separate 3.5 mm audio input and output jacks. Integrated cable guides and velcro ties are included to assist with organized wire routing behind the motherboard tray.
