The Cisco Meraki MR46E-HW is a Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) indoor access point for high-density enterprise environments. It operates on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, with a maximum combined throughput of 2980 Mbit/s. Wireless rates reach 574 Mbit/s on the 2.4 GHz band and 2402 Mbit/s on the 5 GHz band. MU-MIMO and beamforming technologies manage multiple concurrent client connections, while 1024-QAM modulation increases data throughput. Six external, detachable antennas allow for site-specific coverage adjustments.

Wired connectivity is provided by a single 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port supporting 100/1000/2500 Mbit/s. This port also supports Power over Ethernet (802.3at), though a 12V DC power input is available as an alternative. Security features include WPA2-Enterprise, EAP-TLS, and an integrated firewall.
