The D-Link DWL-X8630AP is a dual-band unified access point for professional networks. It operates on the Wi-Fi 6 standard, supporting concurrent 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. The model offers a combined wireless data transfer rate of 3600 Mbit/s, suited for high-density environments. It provides up to 2402 Mbit/s on the 5 GHz band and 1147 Mbit/s on the 2.4 GHz band. Four internal antennas use MU-MIMO technology to handle multiple simultaneous data streams, ensuring stable connectivity in offices or educational settings.

The access point features two RJ-45 Ethernet ports supporting data rates up to 2.5 Gbit/s. The unit is powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE), which delivers both power and data through a single cable. Security includes WPA, WPA2, and WPA3 in both Personal and Enterprise modes.
