The QNAP TL-R1620SEP-RP is a storage expansion enclosure designed to increase the capacity of compatible QNAP NAS systems. Housed in a 3U rackmount chassis, it provides a high-density drive array for data-intensive environments such as centralized file storage, backups, or surveillance archives. The unit uses two power supply units to ensure system uptime during hardware failures. It is compatible with host systems running the QTS or QuTS hero operating systems.

The chassis uses three 80 mm fans for cooling, with an operational noise level of 36 dB under normal working conditions. The unit weighs 13.14 kg without storage media installed. The front-facing drive bays support hot-swapping, allowing disks to be replaced without shutting down the system. Integrated LED indicators provide status monitoring for the unit and individual storage drives. The chassis is finished in black and grey.
