The Synology RackStation RS1221RP+ is a 2U rack-mounted NAS with redundant power, designed for centralized data management in small and medium-sized businesses. The system features eight drive bays that accommodate 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch SATA HDDs or SSDs. An AMD Ryzen Embedded V1500B quad-core processor (2.2 GHz) handles file sharing and backup tasks. The hardware supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, and JBOD configurations, and users can perform online RAID expansion and migration to adjust storage volumes as requirements change. The NAS runs on the DiskStation Manager platform and provides storage access via standard protocols including SMB, NFS, and iSCSI.
