The Roccat Recon 70 is a wired gaming headset built with an over-ear, closed-back acoustic system. This design is intended to isolate the user from ambient noise, focusing the audio produced by its 40 mm dynamic drivers. These drivers utilize neodymium magnets and operate within a standard frequency response range of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. The headset's construction consists of a primary headband and earcups fitted with synthetic leather foam padding, designed to provide a secure fit during use.

For voice communication, the headset integrates an omnidirectional boom microphone. A primary feature of the microphone is its flip-to-mute mechanism, which silences voice input when the boom is raised to a vertical position.
