Makita 2012NB 1650 W Thickness Planer

The Makita 2012NB 1650 W thickness planer is a corded machine for reducing and levelling wooden boards up to 304 mm wide. Its 1,650 W motor drives the cutter head at a no-load speed of 8,500 RPM. Each pass can remove up to 3 mm of material, so rough stock can be reduced in controlled stages. The machine produces repeatable thickness and smooth, even surfaces rather than carrying out handheld edge planing. This makes it suitable for workshop preparation of boards and other wooden workpieces.

The cutter head uses reversible HSS blades, so each blade can be turned when one edge is worn. An automatic feed system moves workpieces through the machine and helps maintain consistent travel during planing. The 483 mm-wide by 771 mm-deep body needs a suitably sized bench plus clear space for stock entering and leaving the planer. At 401 mm high, the controls and material path fit within a compact workshop layout.
