Makita DKP181Z 18V LXT Brushless Cordless Planer

The Makita DKP181Z 18V LXT Brushless Cordless Planer is a battery-powered hand planer for trimming timber, reducing panels and preparing wood surfaces. Its 82 mm planing width sets the widest strip it can cut in one pass. The 18V platform allows cordless use in workshops and on site. A brushless motor drives the cutter without carbon brushes. The no-load speed is 12,000 RPM, which is the cutter speed before contact with the workpiece. Its cordless design also removes the need to manage a mains lead across the work area.

This body-only version is supplied without a battery or charger, so both are required before use. It accepts removable 18V LXT lithium-ion batteries. A rubber-coated soft-grip handle and an ergonomic body shape are designed to improve control during longer tasks. Chip ejection can be directed to either the left or right to suit the working position. The parking stand keeps the cutter away from the workpiece when the planer is set down.
