The Philips Avent SCD502/26 DECT Audio Baby Monitor is an audio-only system for monitoring a nursery. As it does not include a camera or display, it relies entirely on sound transmission. The indoor range is up to 50 m, with an outdoor range of up to 300 m. The parent unit features a battery life of up to 24 hours and uses a dedicated receiver rather than smartphone connectivity. Digital DECT technology is used to minimise interference and ensure a private link between the units.

An integrated nightlight provides a soft, yellow glow in the nursery. The system automatically alerts the user if the parent unit moves out of range or if the battery level is low. The units can be powered by an AC adapter or two 1.5 V AA batteries. Adjustable volume controls allow for the speaker output to be set according to the environment. The monitor includes a built-in microphone and speaker for sound detection and playback, finished in white to suit nursery decor.
