UNIT 1 FARO MIPS Smart Cycling Helmet Blackbird Small with Remote is an urban cycling helmet intended to support impact protection and rider visibility in city traffic. It incorporates MIPS brain-protection technology alongside an EPS inner shell and an ABS outer shell. An IP67 ingress-protection rating provides documented resistance to dust and water. Integrated lighting makes the rider's position and movements more visible to other road users. Crash Alert technology can detect a significant impact and send an SOS notification to designated emergency contacts. This emergency function requires connection to the UNIT 1 app.

A scratch-resistant, water-repellent fabric covering conceals the helmet's lighting and electronics. The rechargeable lithium-ion battery avoids the need for disposable cells. Controls are designed around riding use, with lighting functions accessible without handling a smartphone. Compatibility extends to the UNIT 1 app, the supplied UNIT 1 remote control, and compatible UNIT 1 Smart Light equipment. Lighting can be synchronised with supported equipment in the same system.
