The Synology RackStation RS822+ 4-bay rackmount NAS is a 1U storage server designed for centralized data management and backup. It features four hot-swappable drive bays that accommodate 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch SATA hard drives and solid-state drives. The system uses an AMD Ryzen V1500B quad-core processor to handle concurrent file-sharing tasks and service requests. Users can configure storage across RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, and 10 for data redundancy, with a maximum internal capacity of 108 TB when fully populated with compatible drives.

Connectivity includes four Gigabit Ethernet ports and a single PCIe Gen3 x8 slot for optional network expansion cards. The standard 2 GB of DDR4 memory is expandable to 32 GB using SO-DIMM slots. Three internal fans maintain operational temperatures within the 1U chassis. The unit supports multiple file systems, including Btrfs, ext4, and NTFS, for cross-platform storage compatibility. System administration and storage management are handled through the web-based DiskStation Manager interface.
