The white Sonos Ray soundbar is a compact 2.0-channel audio system designed to improve built-in television audio. A four-speaker array, consisting of two tweeters and two woofers, provides balanced stereo sound. This configuration focuses on vocal clarity and handles lower frequencies without needing a separate subwoofer. The unit connects to home networks via Wi-Fi or Ethernet, allowing it to stream music independently when the television is off. Unlike many competing products, this system uses Wi-Fi rather than Bluetooth for wireless audio. Because the soundbar does not include a physical remote, setup and daily control are handled entirely through the companion mobile app.

The soundbar connects to a television via an optical digital cable or an Audio Return Channel (ARC) link. You can adjust equalizer settings directly within the app. A dedicated night mode is available to reduce sudden dynamic volume spikes during late-evening viewing. You can also stream audio directly from mobile devices using Apple AirPlay 2 or Spotify Connect, bypassing the television entirely. If your wireless coverage is unreliable, the Ethernet port provides a stable connection for continuous network access.
